Settings

You can change settings for the display, volume, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.

To access Settings

On the Home screen, tap Settings. You can also tap Settings on the Quick Panel.

NOTE

The design of the app and the controls may differ depending on your settings and software version. If you have deleted the app from the Home screen, tap Apps and then tap the app to add it back to the Home screen.

Settings menu description

Item	Description
Connections	Tap to open. The following settings are available. Wi-Fi: You can select a Wi-Fi network. Network status: You can check the internet connection status. The status will be one of the followings: Normal, No internet connection, Connection failed. Bluetooth and speaker: If you turn the speaker mode on, you can stream your music/media in your mobile phone or tablet through the Family Hub’s speaker. If you turn the speaker mode off, you can connect to available Bluetooth devices. A Bluetooth connection is only available with sound output devices such as speakers, headsets, and earphones. Easy Connection: You can connect the refrigerator to the SmartThings server via a Wi-Fi connection. When the refrigerator is connected, you can use the SmartThings app to check the status of the refrigerator and/or control it from a mobile device.
Display	Tap to open. The following settings are available. Brightness: You can adjust the screen brightness. Motion detector: You can turn on or turn off the motion detector. When turned on, the screen turns on when motion is detected. Clean Screen Mode: Tap to clean the screen without touching any contents on the screen. Home screen wallpaper: You can select a background image. Screen saver: You can turn on or turn off the screen saver and set screen saver options. Screen timeout (Automatic screen-off time): You can select the length of time before the screen saver turns on.
Sound	Tap to open. The following settings are available. Media: You can adjust the volume of media. System: You can adjust the volume of sounds. Equalizer: You can select equalizers. Touch sounds: You can turn on or turn off the sounds made when you tap the screen.
Notifications	Tap to open. You can turn on or off the preview option on the notification popup for certain apps. (Example: Gallery, Memo, White Board)
Profile	Tap to open. You can add, edit, or remove a profile. To sync with your mobile device, download the Samsung Family Hub app on Google Play or Apple App Store.
Bixby	Tap to open. The following settings are available. Language and Voice style: You can select the language of Bixby or the speaker type for the Text-to-speech function. Sound feedback: You can set the sound feedback that alerts you when Bixby starts or stops listening. Voice wake-up You can turn on or turn off the Voice wake-up function. When turned on, you can turn on Bixby by saying the Wake Word. You can adjust the sensitivity level of the voice wake-up. Set the sensitivity level higher if Bixby does not react to your voice. You can turn on or turn off the multi device wake-up function. When there are multiple devices with Bixby function connected to the same router, nearest device wakes up to voice wake-up word. Voice ID: You can turn on or turn off and manage the Voice ID function. Music Services: You can change the preferences for the music services. Privacy: You can agree or disagrees to the terms of privacy information (name, address, location) needed for Bixby service. About Bixby: You can check the version and other information about Bixby.
Security	Tap to open. The following settings are available. To enable restrictions, tap Enable restrictions, set the passcode, and then select the app you want to restrict. If you enable restrictions, you will be asked to input a passcode before using restricted apps or to disable restrictions.
Storage	Tap to open. You can check and manage the disk space of Family Hub. You can check the disk space used by the apps and manage images in the Gallery.
Language and time	Tap to open. The following settings are available. Language: You can select a language. Available languages depend on your region. Automatic date and time: You can turn on or turn off to update time from the Internet. Set date: You can manually set a date. (You must disable Automatic date and time.) Set time: You can manually set a time. (You must disable Automatic date and time.) Time zone: You can select the time zone. 24-hour clock: You can turn on or turn off the 24-hour clock format. NOTE When you turn on Automatic date and time, Family Hub restarts automatically and all date and time settings are reset.
Accessibility	Tap to open. The following settings are available. Screen reader: You can turn on or turn off the screen reader. When turned on, Family Hub provides spoken feedback to help blind and low-vision users. Text-to-Speech: You can select the speech rate and check the language of the spoken feedback. Font size: You can select the font size. Grayscale: You can turn on or turn off the grayscale option. Negative color: You can turn on or turn off the negative color option. Accessible screen: You can turn on or turn off the accessible screen. When turned on, you can tap the Home button twice to shift the screen down to access the contents on the top part of the screen.
About Family Hub	Tap to open. You can check the model name, software version, Bluetooth MAC address, and Wi-Fi MAC address. Device name: You can change the name of the device to distinguish your Family Hub when connecting with other devices through Bluetooth, Wi-Fi direct etc. You can update the software. The Update button becomes active when the software is ready for update. Restart: You can restart Family Hub. Reset Network Settings: You can reset the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings. Factory Data Reset: Tap to reset the refrigerator to the factory default. All user data will be removed permanently. NOTE Once factory reset is complete, no user data can be recovered. Help and Contact us	Tap to open. Online manual: Tap to open the online manual. Remote Management: Tap to open and activate the Remote Management function if a Call Center requests to access your Family Hub remotely to check internal information.
