Fridge Manager

To access the Fridge Manager app

On the Home screen, tap the Fridge Manager app.

  • On the Fridge Manager app, the current fridge and freezer temperatures as well as any active special functions are displayed.
NOTE

The design of the app and the controls may differ depending on your settings and software version. If you have deleted the app from the Home screen, tap Apps and then tap the app to add it back to the Home screen.

Main screen description

The Fridge Manager is a graphical representation of your refrigerator.

  • Displays the external (ambient) temperature and humidity.
02  Ice maker status
  • Displays the status of the ice maker.
03  Water filter status
  • Displays the water filter status and reminds you when the filter needs to be replaced.
  • Tap to go to the Water Filter screen.
04  Lock / Unlock
  • Tap to lock or unlock the temperature and mode control.
05  Temperature and mode control
  • Set the temperature and the mode of each compartment.
    • A: Fridge
    • B: FlexZone™
    • C: Freezer
06  Return
  • Tap to return to the Home screen.
07  Help
  • Tap to see how to use this app.
08  Special Features
  • Tap to see the refrigerator’s special features.
09  Fridge Settings
  • Tap to go to the Fridge settings screen.

To change the fridge/freezer temperature

  1. Tap the fridge or freezer section.
  2. Tap the up or down arrow or the predefined temperature setting.
    • Each time you tap the arrow, the set temperature changes by one degree.
    NOTE

    You can also tap the up or down arrow on the Fridge Manager app’s main screen to change the temperature.

  3. When finished, tap Save.

To change the FlexZone™ mode

  1. Tap the FlexZone™ section.
  2. Tap the mode you want.
    NOTE

    You can also tap the up or down arrow on the Fridge Manager app’s main screen to change the mode in this sequence: Frozen - Soft Freeze - Meat & Fish - Cheese & Vegetables - White wine.

  3. When finished, tap Save.

Available modes in the FlexZone™ are shown below.

Mode

Description

Frozen

Sets the FlexZone™ to the same temperature as the freezer.

Soft Freeze

Perfect for keeping soft ice cream.

Meat & Fish

To keep meat or fish fresh.

Cheese & Vegetables

To keep cheeses and vegetables fresh.

White wine

For storing white wine, other beverages, and fruit.

To turn Power Cool on

Power Cool lowers the fridge temperature and speeds up the cooling process. When Power Cool is on, the fridge runs at full power for several hours and then returns to normal operation and the previous temperature setting.

  1. Tap Power Cool in the fridge section. The icon lights up.
  2. When finished, tap Save on the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

To turn Power Freeze on

Power Freeze lowers the freezer temperature and speeds up the freezing process. When Power Freeze is on, the freezer runs at full power for several hours and then returns to normal operation and the previous temperature setting.

  1. Tap Power Freeze in the freezer section. The icon lights up.
  2. When finished, tap Save on the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

Fridge Settings

Description

Ice Maker

Turns the ice maker on and off.

Dispenser Lock

Locks or unlocks the ice and water dispenser.

Door Alarm

Turns the door alarm on or off. The door alarm sounds if you leave the door open.

Temp. Unit

Switches the scale unit between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Water Filter

Tap to open the Water Filter screen.

You can reset the filter after replacing, view a filter replacement tutorial, and buy a filter from the Samsung online shop.

NOTE

After installing the water filter for the first time, tap Water Filter, and then tap Reset. Tapping Reset initializes the time remaining until the water filter needs to be replaced.

Self Check

You can troubleshoot your refrigerator. Tap Self Check - Start.

Demand Response (SMART GRID)

Turns the DAL/TALR override on or off.

NOTE

To use the Demand Response (SMART GRID) function, you must register for the service with your electricity provider. The provider must have an Energy Management System (EMS) that supports Smart Energy Profile (SEP).

Cooling Off

Cooling Off mode (also called Shop mode) is designed for use by retailers when they are displaying refrigerators on a retail floor.

In Cooling Off mode, the refrigerator’s fan motor and lights work normally, but the compressors do not run, and the refrigerator and freezer do not get cold. If Cooling Off is turned on, all cooling controls will turn off on the Fridge Manager.
